The Artist
Debra Dowden-Crockett is a glass and
jewelry artist working in Ashburn, VA. Debra has been
designing jewelry for almost 10 years. Each of her pieces is
lovingly created by hand in her studio from an inspiration,
idea, or thought. Every bead and piece of jewelry she designs
and constructs is one-of-a-kind and seems to have its own
personality, not only through the creative process, but as a
final work of art.
She has been working with glass, sculpting
and painting with it in the torch, for almost five years. Her
deep passion for nature, especially plants and flowers,
inspires her to attempt to duplicate its beauty and intricacy
in her work. Working with glass, she is able to create small
details and to mix a wide variation of colors enabling her to
follow each inspiration. Her objective for the art glass that
she creates is to replicate some of the beauty nature offers
in a small object that can be held, worn, and cherished
forever.
Debra’s work has been featured in many
publications on glass art and has been exhibited at
prestigious museums, galleries, and various venues around the
country. Look for her work at select galleries and shows, as
well as on her website. |
